Kevin Kion and Daniël Damen are best friends who founded Mano together in Haarlem, and Kevin is also the chef. Their restaurant is a hotspot for food that is as good to look at as it is to eat. For us that makes the dishes a lot of fun to photograph and film.
We wanted content that makes you hungry and an Instagram as inviting as the food itself, so we manage the account for them. The posts, the stories and the reels are ours, and they’re all about what’s on the plate. We do the community management as well, which has kept their followers involved.
Catching flavour on camera
The hardest part has been consistency. A dish needs its look and its flavour to come across in every photo and every reel, because the pictures stand for the cooking. We shoot the material ourselves, in photo and video sessions. Mano’s Instagram is where it all ends up, and it’s worth a look before you’re next in Haarlem.
