- What it is
Paid ads on search engines, mainly Google. Your ad appears when someone searches for what you offer, and you pay per click.
- Who it suits
Businesses people actively look for: clinics, restaurants, real estate, home services, B2B and online shops.
- How we work
Tracking first, then keywords and ads, then steady optimisation. Every change is explained in the report.
The basics
What search engine advertising is, and when it works
Search engine advertising, or SEA, means paying to appear in the search results. On Google, the ads are marked “Sponsored” and sit above or below the organic results. You choose the searches you want to appear for, and you pay only when someone clicks.
It works because the person is already looking. It works best when three things line up: the keyword matches what you sell, the ad answers the search, and the landing page makes the next step easy. When one is missing, clicks still cost money but fewer of them turn into customers.
| Campaign | Where it shows | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| Search | Text ads in Google’s search results | Reaching people who are ready to act. |
| Performance Max | One campaign across Search, YouTube, Display, Discover, Gmail and Maps | Scaling once conversion tracking is reliable. |
| Shopping | Product listings with image and price | Online shops with a product feed. |
| Display and remarketing | Banners on websites and in apps | Staying visible to people who already visited your site. |
| YouTube | Video ads before and during videos | Awareness and demand for something new. |
How Google decides
What decides your position and your price
Google runs an auction for every search. The highest bid does not automatically win: quality counts too, which is why a well-built account can pay less per click.
- 01
Your bid
The most you are willing to pay for a click. You often pay less than your maximum.
- 02
Expected click-through rate
How likely people are to click your ad for that search, judged from past performance.
- 03
Ad relevance
How closely the ad matches what the person searched for.
- 04
Landing page experience
Whether the page behind the ad is relevant, clear and fast, especially on a phone.
- 05
Assets and context
Extra information such as sitelinks, call buttons and location, and the context of the search: device, place and time.
The service
What our Google Ads management includes
Everything an account needs, from the first conversion tag to the report.
Tracking and account setup
Google tag, GA4 and conversion actions for calls, forms, bookings and purchases, with enhanced conversions where they apply. Tested before any budget is spent.
Keyword research
The searches your customers actually use, in English and Arabic, grouped by intent, with the negatives that keep budget away from the wrong clicks.
Ads and assets
Responsive search ads with up to 15 headlines and 4 descriptions, plus sitelinks, callouts, call and location assets.
Landing pages
We review the page behind every ad. Where it holds results back, our web team builds a faster, clearer one.
Bidding and budgets
The bidding strategy that fits your data and your goal, and budgets split by what each campaign returns.
Optimisation and reporting
Search terms, bids, ads and budgets are reviewed on a regular schedule. You get a report in plain language.
Our approach
How a Google Ads campaign runs, in six steps
The order matters. Without tracking, nobody can tell which keyword paid for itself.
Audit and goals
We review your current account, website and competitors, and agree what a conversion is and what it may cost.
Set up tracking
Conversion tracking is installed and verified, so every lead and sale can be traced to a keyword.
Build the structure
Campaigns and ad groups by service, location and intent, each with its keywords and negatives.
Write the ads
Ads and assets for each ad group, matched to the landing page they point to.
Launch and learn
Campaigns go live. Automated bidding needs conversion data to settle, so we avoid large changes in the first weeks.
Optimise and report
We cut wasted spend, move budget to what converts, test new ads and report the results.
The vocabulary
Keywords, match types and bidding, explained
Six terms you will see in every report. Knowing them makes it easier to judge our work.
Broad match
Your ad can show for searches related to your keyword, including ones that do not contain it. Wide reach; it needs good tracking and negatives.
Phrase match
Your ad shows for searches that include the meaning of your keyword. A balance of reach and control.
Exact match
Your ad shows for searches with the same meaning as your keyword. The tightest control and the lowest volume.
Negative keywords
Searches you do not want to pay for, such as “free” or “jobs”. Reviewing them is routine work in every account.
Smart Bidding
Google sets the bid for each auction to reach a goal you choose, such as a target cost per lead or a target return.
Search terms report
The actual searches that triggered your ads. It shows where budget was well spent and where it leaked.
Local knowledge
Running Google Ads in Dubai and the UAE
The platform is the same everywhere. The searches, the languages and the rules are not.
Two languages
People in the UAE search in English and in Arabic, and often mix both. We research keywords in each language and write separate ads for each.
Location in the search
Many searches name a place, such as “restaurant Dubai Marina”. We target by emirate, city or radius, and choose between people who are in an area and people who are only interested in it.
Residents and visitors
Dubai has residents and a large number of visitors. A tourist searching from a hotel and a resident searching from home often need different ads.
Rules for regulated sectors
Google restricts advertising for some categories, including healthcare and financial services, and local rules apply too: real estate ads in Dubai need a Trakheesi permit. We check this before a campaign is built.
Paid and organic
SEA or SEO: which one do you need?
Usually both. SEA brings visitors now, and SEO lowers the cost of every visitor over time.
| Aspect | SEA | SEO |
|---|---|---|
| Speed | Visible as soon as campaigns are approved | Takes months to build |
| Cost | You pay per click | No cost per click; the investment is time and content |
| Where you appear | Sponsored positions, above or below the organic results | The organic results |
| When you stop | Traffic stops when the budget does | Rankings can keep bringing visits |
| Best for | Launches, offers and fast demand | Long-term visibility at a falling cost per visit |
Budget
What search engine advertising costs
A campaign has three costs, and you should see each one separately.
Ad spend
Paid by you directly to Google. Google Ads has no minimum spend, and you can change the budget at any time.
Management
Our fee for set-up, optimisation and reporting. Agreed up front.
Landing pages and creative
New pages, banners or video when a campaign needs them, quoted separately.
We do not publish a price list, because click prices differ widely by sector and keyword. On the free consultation call we estimate what a click and a lead are likely to cost in your market.
The numbers we report, in plain language
- Impression share
- How often your ad showed, out of the searches it was eligible for.
- CTR
- Click-through rate: the share of people who saw the ad and clicked.
- CPC
- Cost per click: what one visit costs.
- Conversion rate
- The share of clicks that became a lead or a sale.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about Google Ads
Eleven questions we hear before almost every campaign.
How much does Google Ads cost in Dubai?
You set the budget. The cost of a click depends on how many advertisers want the same keyword, so competitive sectors such as real estate, legal and healthcare cost more per click than niche services. We estimate click and lead costs for your keywords before you commit.
Is there a minimum budget for Google Ads?
Google has no minimum spend. In practice the budget has to buy enough clicks to learn from: if a day’s budget covers only a handful of clicks, it takes a long time to see what works.
How quickly do Google Ads bring results?
Ads can appear on the day a campaign is approved, and the first clicks follow quickly. Stable results take longer, because bidding and keywords are refined with real data over the first weeks.
What is the difference between SEA and SEO?
SEA buys a position in the sponsored results and you pay per click. SEO earns a position in the organic results through content and technical work, which takes longer and does not cost per click. Most businesses benefit from both. SEO in Dubai.
What is Quality Score, and why does it matter?
Quality Score is Google’s 1 to 10 estimate of how relevant your keyword, ad and landing page are. It is built from expected click-through rate, ad relevance and landing page experience. Better quality can mean a better position at a lower cost per click.
Should I use Search campaigns or Performance Max?
Search campaigns give the most control over which searches you appear for. Performance Max reaches people across all of Google’s channels and relies on automation, so it needs reliable conversion tracking first. We often start with Search and add Performance Max once the data is there.
Do I need a landing page for Google Ads?
You need a page that matches the ad. Sending every click to a general homepage usually wastes budget. If your site has no suitable page, we can build one. Web development.
Should my ads be in English or Arabic?
Follow the search behaviour of your customers. Many UAE accounts run both languages as separate campaigns, each with its own keywords, ads and landing page.
Who owns the Google Ads account?
You do. The account is in your name and we work in it with manager access, so the history and the data stay with you if we ever part ways.
Can you take over an existing Google Ads account?
Yes. We start with an audit of the structure, tracking, search terms and spend, and tell you what we would keep and what we would change before any work begins.
What does it mean that Social Sparrow is a Google Partner?
Google Partner is a status Google gives to agencies that meet its requirements for certified staff, managed ad spend and account performance. You can check our status in Google’s own directory. Our Google Partner profile.
